another weird weather day

The weather was nuts this morning. Sheets of rain and roaring wind for hours. The wind was so strong we were worried it might bring down a tree or two!

Then this afternoon the sun peeked out, and it was warm.

Tonight I was surprised at work with home cooked dinner from friends. Sloppy Joes, chili, and homemade apple pie! Yum!

I have to get to a local cider mill soon. Few things are so good in the autumn as freshly pressed cider and freshly baked doughnuts!

I talked to my buddy Jim tonight, and he will definitely be setting aside time for our friend John when he goes out west later this month. I just wish that Jim could bring John back home for all of us! We all miss him!

Hopefully this will be a good week. The first two nights at work was quiet and we were able to get caught up on things we often do not have time to do. Steven has a soccer game on Saturday, then on Saturday night we will be going to what should be a great jazz concert with Marion McPartland.
