there's a player down...

Well, I certainly was not intending to spend yesterday afternoon in the pediatric emergeny room at UM hospital, but...when do you ever plan on something like that?

My younger son had the last soccer game of the season out in Chelsea this afternoon. Right at the end of the game, on of his friends on the team tangled up with an opposing player and they went down, Steven's friend going head and neck first onto the ground really hard. Sad

He did not move.

He was out cold for at least a couple of minutes.

They EMT's put him in a neck brace and took him away to the hospital.

And his poor parents were both at work.

So one of the coaches rode in the ambulance with him, and Dan and I with Steven followed the ambulance, and another parent with a couple more of the kids rode followed us. There was no way any of us could let that poor sweet kid go to the hospital with no supporting people to be with him. Sad

We took turns visting the poor concussed kid until his parents were able to get there. Sad

He is going to be OK. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy In fact, for awhile, he had a crowd of team mates in there with him trying to cheer him up. Cool God, there are some great, sweet kids on that soccer team!

But man, I think we are all wiped out now.

When that poor kid went down and wouldn't move...man, that was scary.
Shocked
