the last week

The last week or so have been ludicrously busy. Sigh.

Two Saturdays ago Dan and I went to hear jazz diva Dianne Reeves in concert at Hill Auditorium in Ann Arbor. She has one of the most beautiful, rich, and smooth voices you could ever imagine - the only currently recording and touring jazz artist I am aware of whose vocal quality can compare to past greats such as Ella Fitzgerald or Lena Horne. And she definately gave us a wonderful concert that Saturday evening. Lovely - lovely -lovely!

We then ate dinner at a grill in Ann Arbor called the Red Hawk.

The sandwiches were great, and the lamb & white bean soup was superb. I will have to hunt the internet for recipes for that.

Last Wednesday was my birthday. We went walking in the beautiful fall woods with Steven along a rushing stream that passes through the forest on its way to the Huron River. It was a beautiful afternoon.

We ate dinner at one of the world's greatest delis, at Zingerman's in Ann Arbor. http://www.zingermans.com/Index.pasp The food did not disappoint, and the autumn evening was so mild we could eat outside.

It was a great birthday!

This last weekend Bill came home for "fall break". It is always so good to see him! Love my kiddo!

And of course, as a long time fan of the books of Stephen R. Donaldson, I have been quite absorbed in his latest offering, Fatal Revenant.
