Man, those tornadoes down South last night did a lot of damage. My heart really goes out to the injured, the people who have lost their homes and businesses, and to those who have lost loved ones. And the rescue workers, who are now laboring to find the lost, people who might be trapped and injured in debris, and additional dead.
The area in Arkansas where my parents lived was hit pretty hard. While there were no towns particularly close to their house, one of the closer ones, Cherokee Village, was pretty much destroyed according to CNN. The tornado followed the main highway through town - the one we drove on every time we went to visit my parents - and leveled every business building but one.
Another tornado reportedly took out the area where my sister lived for a couple of years in Gallatin, TN. It not only hit her neighborhood, it even took out the campground on the lake where we would take the dogs for walks.
Somehow it seems sadder when you personally know some of the places destroyed.
